Well.. Summer is too
short!!!
Many of our visitors have been very lucky dogs. They are camping and going to the lake. We get so excited when we have not seen them for a week or so It is hilarious to watch their best friends welcome them back…the excitement is huge. Today Piper came back from vacation and his friends acted like it had been an eternity. Pepperanne was missed and I got my big hug from her. Both had only been gone about a week!!! Too funny. It really is like an extended family.
I have to talk about our Sydney. She is still a puppy but has outgrown the Wagglers. We have been introducing her to the Woofers for a long time. She really loves the Wagglers and her gang of friends who includes Devito, Joie and many more. Our Woofer Mischa is in love with Sydney but until today it has not been reciprocated. Today is a breakthrough!!! Sydney played with Mischa tons!!!! Mischa was so gentle and allowed Sydney to get on top of her and bodycheck her. Both are in love and Sydney has made a good friend!!! I actually teared up when they were playing Mischa so wanted to be Sydneys friend and has tried hard for a long time.
Life lesson:
To those that are patient (persistent and gentle) good things happen in time.
Waggler update:
New Game
We have to talk about their new game. Zoe Burrows mom now treats the Wagglers with ice cubes from time to time. The Wagglers go crazy. The “pucks” hit the ground and the game is on. One game is paw to the ground and see how high they fling. They chew on them, spin them around, chase them and lick. It is fun for all. The aunties fun is to run around and try the guessing game: Which are puddles of ice vs puddles of pee
New Web Camera
The Wagglers nap room now has a web cam and all the moms, dads and friends can watch naptime. Everyone can see the rush to get their spots on and by Auntie, Everyone can watch the snuggles and love. Everyone can see at the end of naptime how many Wagglers come out of Aunties blanket
Many of our Woofers parents watch the Waggler naptime too. Sorry Woofers we are not able to put a webcam in our nap area
I still sit here in disbelief. I have a dream business. I have 2 great Aunties that love dogs as much as me. I love all the visitors and right now got to tummy tickle Mischa and now watch her play with Squid They are crazy I look forward to hosting the December seminar with Brenda Aoff.
The seminar is one of my last goals for Woofs. When I opened Woofs I did everything from the beginning (floors, surveillance, webcams and much more). I also promised myself to bring educational seminars to Winnipeg. I am. It is almost sold out and has exceeded my goal. I want to continue to make this an annual tradition. I want to not only educate myself but everyone involved in Woofs. It is important in any business to educate yourself and to keep growing and learning. I always say if I learn 2 new tips and techniques from a seminar it is worth attending.
The day I do not feel I can benefit from continuing to educate myself in dog behavior is truly the day I should stop working with our four legged friends. I feel that I learn everyday from every experience. I am continually learning from all our visitors. I respect the power, the temperaments, the breeds and mixes of breeds, body language. If one does not allow oneself to be open to ideas, suggestions, tips, growth and knowledge is the day one has lost the set of keys. The set of keys include keys to management of behavior, respecting change, growth and never thinking you know too much, and keeping the respect
